In April 2021, Raithwaite Estate in Sandsend near Whitby instructed CORE to commence works on the first phase of development that will expand the accommodation offering within the hotel grounds.
The award of the contract for the first phase includes: earthworks, road construction, retaining walls, foundations and drainage to allow pre-fabricated holiday lodges to be sited on the estate.
The duration of the initial phase of the contract is 10 weeks. During this time CORE undertook the earthworks, setting out, foundations, and all excavations to connect essential services on site.
The CORE team successfully carried out the works in difficult terrain and took great care to ensure there was no disruption to hotel guests and summer residents.
There will be four phases of development over the next four years. The first phase includes three glass villas built into the hillside, four lodges set on stilts and 14 Yorkshire stone cottages.
