Higginshaw: Remediation

In March 2022, CORE was awarded a substantial works package at Pacific Park, located on the Western side of Higginshaw Lane situated approximately 1 mile to the north of Oldham town centre, between Manchester and Leeds.

This was another major package of works for our client Marshall CDP who is offering design and build options from 13,000 sq.ft up to 150,000 sq.ft subject to planning.

Promoting sustainable regeneration, the works comprised remediation and earthworks of land to allow its subsequent development for industrial purposes.

The purpose of the remedial work was to improve the site geotechnically and to reduce potential environmental liabilities. Remediation operations on site by CORE included; excavation to natural ground, management of site material and waste, stockpile management, crushing & screening, soil solidification and stabilisation and final re-instatement.

CORE’s remit also included significant testing and compliance work to ensure the site could be transformed from unusable to a development platform.
