Barrow: Foot Bridge

Introduction

In June 2021 CORE was awarded a contract at Barrow-Upon-Soar in Leicestershire for Jelson Homes.

The project saw CORE work in partnership with the client and Leicester Council from concept to design approval and adoption. Works include a new steel pedestrian footbridge, concrete abutments installed either side, plus supporting foundations together with associated footpaths.

Originally designed as 5m, the design was adjusted to 10m length by CORE in order to retain the existing topography. The bridge weighs 5 tonnes and was manufactured and delivered by Nusteel Structures.

The installation took just 2 hours to complete and now provides excellent access for local residents.
