CORE received a contract for remediation/enabling works as part of a new residential development for Countryside Properties in Knaresborough.
The package of works includes removal and crushing of existing concrete foundations and slabs, managing any contamination. The initial package of works was followed by a roads and sewers package and subsequently a plot works package.
The development of 64 new homes on the site of the former Trelleborg rubber Factory, in Knaresborough will bring a derelict and underutilised site back to life, with new roads and associated infrastructure and landscaping.
The Trelleborg Factory and associated buildings – which closed in 2016 – have recently been demolished. This first package of works included removal and crushing of existing concrete foundations and slabs, removal of a swimming pool, dealing with contamination, and was followed by a second contract for roads and sewers and plot-works which includes piled foundation.
The works commenced in November 2022 with an initial duration of 8 weeks for the remediation/enabling works. Additional packages of work commenced immediately after and will continue until early 2024.
