CORE’s package of works at Gildersome is further extended
CORE has been awarded a package of work at Gildersome in Leeds to construct the junction from Asquith Avenue into the new industrial park on behalf of Leeds City Council.
The highway works are in association with the development of land between Gelderd Road, Asquith Avenue and Nepshaw Lane North, Gildersome and includes widening the existing road, planing and re surfacing Asquith Avenue, together with new services, lighting, signs and footpath works.
The package is being run in conjunction with an existing contract with Marshall CDP at Gildersome where CORE has already completed extensive earthworks and infrastructure works. This latest package of works has commenced on site and will be complete in April.
The Chief Officer (Highways and Transportation) approved the recommendation to award the S278 Gelderd Road, Gildersome (Access 2) Highway Improvements Contract to CORE – who provided a competitive package.
The 70 acre site, just off the M62 at Leeds has been developed for commercial use with industrial and distribution units up to 150,000 sq.ft available.
