Commercial Development Projects Limited (part of the Marshall Group) has awarded CORE a £1m deal to build infrastructure at a major new business park off Gelderd Road/Asquith Avenue in Gildersome.
Located at Junction 1 of the M621 and Junction 27 of the M62, only 4 miles south west of Leeds City Centre, this 70 acre site has planning permission for 1 million sq.ft of commercial space.
CORE commenced work on the site at the end of November 2016. The works will be completed with a 25 week time frame.
The scope of work includes 1000m of drainage and sewerage infrastructure in addition to 450 metres of road, new services, attenuation pond, fencing and pumping station.
Alan Cooper, director at CORE, said: “This is the start of an exciting new commercial project for Leeds and we are very pleased to showcase our diverse range of civils expertise on a site which will deliver great economic development potential for the region.
“Seeing work begin ahead of the festive season is ideal for us as we aim to have the initial infrastructure work completed by early 2017 to allow for construction and occupation of the industrial and distribution units by Winter 2017.”
