CORE’s involvement with CPD Developments Ltd at Gildersome has more than doubled in scope and value with the award of an additional £3 million earthworks contract.

Based on the firm’s proven expertise at the business park off Gelderd road/Asquith Avenue in Gildersome, CORE have secured the new contract which includes substantial excavation and filling of up to 550,000m3 of material, large scale earthworks, dynamic compaction of a 45,000m2 area plus grouting of 25,000m2 and the creation of a new access road and stone platforms measuring 36,000m3.

The new contract is estimated to create around 25 jobs – more than originally envisaged.

CORE has worked closely with client CDP Developments Ltd (part of the Marshall Group) during the evolution of the project. A CORE spokesperson said. “This collaboration and partnering approach has led to the creation of an expanded scope of works, which utilises our civils skills and expertise.”

Located at Junction 1 of the M621 and Junction 27 of the M62, only 4 miles south west of Leeds City Centre, this 70 acre site has planning permission for 1 million sqft of commercial space.
