CORE Signs Armed Forces Covenant

CORE has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, showing a commitment to supporting those who serve, or have served in the military, and their families.

The Covenant is a promise from the nation to actively support the Armed Forces Community and ensure they are not disadvantaged in their day-to-day lives.

Says Andy Preston, Director at CORE: “We are proud to already employ a number of ex-forces personnel and we actively seek to encourage and support armed forces people to consider the construction industry when they transition from the military into civilian employment.

“We are proud to have signed this Covenant as part of our continuing commitment to the Armed Forces and their families. At CORE, we recognise the value of supporting those who have served and currently serve our country and all those connected with the military.

“We are proud to call ourselves a forces-friendly organisation and want to support those working with us now, and in the future from the military community.”

CORE is committed to attracting a more diverse workforce into the construction sector, and seeks to address the ever-growing skills gap within the industry.

What is the Armed Forces Covenant?

The Armed Forces Covenant was enshrined legally in the Armed Forces Act 2011 as a promise from the nation that its Armed Forces personnel will be treated fairly. The Covenant can be signed by any and all UK businesses interested in showing their support for defence personnel.
