Here’s what Oliver had to say about the last 12 months….

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first year at CORE – I understood when I accepted the position how much of a steep learning curve it would be coming from a utilities and housebuilding background – however I have fully embraced this and really enjoyed the challenge!

Every day really has been a school day and 12 months on, I feel like I really am experiencing great career progression within the Estimating team at CORE.

The time certainly has flown by, and I really feel part of the team. I must give thanks and credit to my colleagues for their patience and support.

It is a little cliché to say that the people make the business, but it was extremely important to me to find a company culture with similar values to my own. CORE’s core values reflect who we are as an organisation and define who we are and how we work. We have a strong focus on professionalism and delivering value to our clients, whilst still having fun, which truly makes it a great place to work.

Over the past months, I have worked with some great clients, on some very interesting projects. I think the variety of projects, clients, and varying scope of works that we tender for, ensures that no two days are the same.

I really enjoy the variety as it provides me with constant exposure to so many different areas within the business, allowing me to gain additional understanding and knowledge and grow my career.”
