As part of its ongoing low carbon commitment, CORE Special Projects Ltd has made another significant investment in both the environment and its fleet with the procurement of an impressive number of new key items.
The Leeds-headquartered firm has purchased eight Toyota Corolla Commercial self-charging hybrid vehicles, for delivery early next year.
Manufactured in Britain, the first full hybrid electric van in its class, using self-charging technology, the Corolla Commercial includes the 5th Generation Hybrid Engine, with benefits including more efficient and responsive performance and even more engaging driveability.
This will give CORE the advantage of high fuel efficiency and low emissions, together with the ability to drive on pure electric power in EV mode.
CORE’s Director, Andy Preston has been test driving the Corolla and says the vehicle has a number of significant pro’s including: ‘it is very car-like to drive, the self-charging Hybrid power means it is incredibly efficient to run and doesn’t require plugging in overnight, either!”
Andy continues: “CORE is committed to honouring its sustainability commitment and to comply with increasingly strict emissions regulations.
“We are committed to operating our business in a wholly responsible way, and that includes driving down carbon emissions within the fleet and doing everything possible across the business to mitigate our impact on the environment.”
In a move to further minimise its environmental impact, CORE has also purchased 12 new Peugeot Partner vans to replace older, less carbon efficient vehicles.
