CORE is on a winning streak after securing multiple new contracts from new and existing clients with an estimated £4.8m of orders secured in the last 6 months.

The Leeds-based civil engineering company has revealed it has increased revenues by nearly 15% and said it is well on track to add a further £5m turnover this year, which will mean it has effectively increased by 50% in just two years.

Over the past few years, CORE has gained significant credibility within the industry,” says Alan Cooper, Director. “In addition to new contract wins, our repeat business level remains consistent and strong which demonstrates our reputation and reliability. We continue to go from strength-to-strength with more opportunities on the horizon.”

The latest new contracts include two from Jelson Homes and Commercial Development Projects Ltd (part of the Marshall Group).

Operating throughout the East Midlands – Jelson Homes has assigned a roads and sewers job to CORE in Deeping St Nicholas and a S278 Highways package as part of another new residential scheme in Shepshed.

Existing client CDP has also awarded two new projects to CORE in the shape of a remediation, earthworks and highways job in Reepham, Norwich and a Highways scheme in Bradford which consists of removal of existing track/fence, relocation of bus stop, installing 776m drainage, 500m new road full-construction including tie in to existing highway, plus footway and bridleway, landscaping, lighting, signage and fencing work.

Further new contract wins include a package of work at Grange Moor, Huddersfield to carry out deep drainage repairs involving caisson installation, plus a groundworks package at Redeness Street in central York and a package of work at Pickering Plant in Middlesbrough to carry out re-profiling and concrete slabs in the existing yard. The package includes introduction of crossfalls to the existing yard, additional surface layer, filter drain and catch pits to support this and removal and improvement of soft areas.

In addition to the above, CORE has also been awarded with a contract with CDP in Ripon to construct a new junction on Rotary Way which forms part of a new retail development. The contract includes for widening the existing road, drainage and road markings together with new services, lighting, signs and footpath works.

Says Commercial Manager, Chris Stacey: “CORE has a growing reputation within the industry and is consequently attracting new and larger companies to place orders.

“It’s hugely encouraging to see that enquiries have increased significantly during the past six months or so, and this is generally a cause for optimism across the business.”
