2024 Highlights ✨

With the Christmas break on the horizon and as we look forward to entering 2025, we thought it would be a good time to reflect on all we have achieved in 2024.

Our business has evolved and grown in 2024, with numerous opportunities driven by infrastructure development, a host of new clients and the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our work, which continues to deliver superior results for our clients.

The scope of projects we have worked on has varied, to include highways, residential and commercial development and infrastructure and earthworks.

Team CORE are mightily proud of our fundraising efforts in 2024, and together we have raised over £5,800 for our nominated charity, Meningitis Now 🧡

Challenges

And we have experienced weather-related delays to projects in the last 12 months, with excessive rainfall and flooding posing the biggest risk to our site operations. These conditions made it difficult for CORE to maintain our schedules, particularly when it came to tasks involving the movement and handling of earth and aggregates.

A slightly more technically demanding challenge involved installation of large diameter outfall drainage, temporary bridges over high pressure gas main, and subsequent tunnelling under high pressure gas main, at significant depth, with the additional instability posed by a pipe that was installed in the 1970s!

The process began with extensive planning and feasibility studies, pertinent to understanding the geological conditions along the proposed tunnel route.

We used specialist equipment to minimise the vibrations and to navigate the varying geological conditions. Despite such complex conditions, we achieved successful project delivery through careful planning, precision civil engineering skills and well-managed processes.

Here’s a few impressive stats from 2024:-

• Completed projects = 5.    Ongoing projects  = 6.     Projects still ongoing from 2023 = 2.
• No. of roundabouts built = 4
• Total surfacing area = 40,000m2.   Total drainage installed = 7.5km.   Total concrete slab area = 6,000m2
• Achieved a 61% reduction in fuel consumption using Hybrid generator set up on site in Barnsley (savings made for the period 15.02 2024 to 17.12.2024) = £33,603.43.
• C02 Savings = 59142.04kg
• New clients = 3
